WordPress is pretty cool.
The Airport Foundation site was a long time ago, and I had a good amount of time in the interim to mess around with WordPress a LOT. I did. I understand now why it sits on the top of the heap as far as CMSs go, since there are a ridiculous number of levels to it. Learning how to use it has been extremely interesting and complex and frustrating and enlightening.
Another Web Plunge site, this one went incredibly well. We stayed on time, on track, and on top of the world. As far as my own contribution to the new site, I built the front end files, and made something that I am really proud of:
That projects page was so much fun to build, you don’t even know. Or maybe you do? I dunno man, learning WP has been fun. Being able to put that knowledge to use alongside the fancy CSS3 stuff I’ve been accumulating over the past few years has been pretty damned rewarding.
The projects page is almost entirely customizable from inside wordpress: The text, subtext, background image, and overlay color are all pulled from the custom post type when it is built, and can be altered at any point. It was fun. I learned a LOT. The animation was pretty fun to do as well. It was all pretty fun.
